Dividends paid out to UK shareholders hit £12billion in boost to nation’s nest eggs | Personal Finance | Finance


The nation’s nest eggs were boosted by £12 billion over the first three months of the year in the form of dividends paid out by UK listed firms.

This was a rise of seven percent on the first quarter of 2023 and was the highest amount since 2021.

The headline total was helped by one-off payments including a special dividend from the owner of Primark – Associated British Foods – after strong trading.
