A Barclays customer was shocked to discover their account had suddenly closed with the bank saying they could no longer use its services.

The man’s father contacted the bank over X to voice their outrage at what had happened. They said: “My son’s had his account closed by you for no reason and has had a letter today informing him he’ll never be able to use you again.

“All he did was move his own money between accounts. He’s distressed because his student finance goes through his account….
