Phillip Schofield has said he is “heartbroken” by the death of his “magnificent” mother, Pat.

In an Instagram post, alongside pictures of himself and his mum, the former This Morning presenter said: “I love you mum, forever”, after what he called a “heartbreaking weekend”.

He wrote: “Over three days, we held her, loved her, hugged her and said everything that needed to be said.”
