Certain households in the UK are urged to snap up an hour of free electricity tomorrow as part of a new scheme. Octopus Energy is offering customers a “free electricity” session on Thursday, August 15 between 1 and 2pm.

As part of the session those eligible won’t have to pay for any extra electricity they consume in that hour – over their usual electric usage for that time.

You will be credited for the cost of this extra electricity on your account within 14 days, the company said.
