Back in 1981, Ben Cross and Ian Charleson starred as Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire.

The iconic film follows the true story of these two British athletes, an English Jew overcoming prejudice and a devout Christian running for God’s glory.

The pair competed in the 1924 Olympics in Paris, with Liddell famously refusing to run in the 100m heats because they were on a Sunday. Yet he competes in the 400m instead and would go on to win the gold.
