It was 50 years ago today on April 6, 1974 when Swedish band ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest held in the UK with their hit song Waterloo.

Having sold hundreds of millions of records worldwide, the band reunited for the first time in 40 years in 2021 with a new album and virtual concert residency ABBA Voyage which continues performing to this day.

ABBA wrote a joint statement on social media today marking the Waterloo victory’s 50th anniversary.

The band said: “It’s slightly dizzying…
